Hi, I’m Saara (MBACP/ BACP)

I offer one-to-one counselling and psychotherapy sessions for adults. Perhaps you're feeling low, worried, isolated, lonely, or overwhelmed with life's stresses? Maybe you want to explore and make sense of how you’re feeling. You might be seeking to make changes in your life to improve your relationships with yourself or others.

People come to therapy for various reasons; I'm here to support you. I specialise in integrative therapy. This means I work holistically, using a blend of therapeutic techniques and approaches to best support you.

I am a qualified therapist registered with the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

  • I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

  • My professional background includes extensive experience in support and care work. I have also have a Master's degree in Social Work and currently work part-time as a Social Work Reflective Practice Practitioner.

  • I offer sessions in person and online. In person sessions take place in Brixton, Body and Mind Centre SW2 5UL.

I can help with…

I offer a safe, non - judgemental space where you can openly discuss any concerns or challenges you are experiencing, recognising that many issues often interconnect and can be addressed holistically. I can help with:

• Exploring patterns in your behaviour to identify barriers that might be preventing you from reaching your goals. This can help you make positive changes in your life.

• Understanding relationship dynamics to improve your relationships with others.

• Overcoming overthinking, burnout, stress, and other common anxiety-related symptoms.

• Self-esteem and confidence-related issues, including body image and self-identity. This includes exploring internal dialogue and factors that might be influencing this. This can help you with self-compassion and acceptance.

• Overcoming lack of motivation, low mood, isolation, and other depression-related symptoms.

• Experiences of loss, grief, and other life transitions, including health-related issues.

• Connecting more deeply with your feelings to help you process emotions more effectively. This can help you connect more deeply with your inner self.

• Developing healthy boundaries with yourself and others.

• Overcoming experiences of childhood issues and trauma-related issues.

My approach

I specialise in integrative therapy. This means I work holistically, using a blend of therapeutic techniques and approaches to best suit you.

My practice

I like to build a strong relationship with those that I work with; therefore, in sessions, I collaborate to find suitable techniques to achieve your goals. I aim to listen deeply and offer the space for you to feel accepted and comfortable in the room. I use various therapeutic approaches and techniques; here are a few examples.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which helps develop more helpful thinking and coping skills by exploring thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

Psychodynamic therapy

Psychodynamic therapy focuses on exploring and resolving unconscious conflicts and patterns from the past.

Radical acceptance

Radical acceptance encourages letting go of resistance and finding peace in challenging circumstances.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps in accepting difficult thoughts and feelings while aligning actions with personal values.

In addition to these, I also draw from other approaches and concepts that can support you in understanding relationship dynamics, processing grief, managing internal conflicts, and developing new strategies and goal setting.
